We stayed at the most
amazing home in Pauma Valley, California. It was 45 minutes from San Diego, and used to be owned by John Wayne. It slept 26 people--in beds--and so with our group of 20, it was perfect. Even better, my sister in law negotiated a deal, since it was the off season. With a huge kitchen, tables enough to seat us all, comfy beds, on three gorgeous acres, in a luxurious, yet comfortable style--you'd think I was a walking commercial. We had our itinerary planned out so full that we weren't able to enjoy the grounds except for Sunday, but it was cheaper than hotel rooms for our group and so beautiful!
The only problem was its distance from Universal Studios and Disneyland. After a full day of theme parking, it was hard to stay awake driving home.

Aren't the gardens beautiful? Here I am admiring them.

E liked pretending she was Cinderella outside.

ST had a great time, digging and collecting "treasure" outside.

Some family game time. It would have been an awesome vacation just hanging out at the Wayne house. Going more places took the vacation into the realm of AMAZING.
